Mach: Target killer of KESC managing director Saulat Mirza at last hanged in Mach jail after death warrants from an anti-terror court
He was convicted of target killing the acting managing director of KESC and his execution was deferred twice before. Court issued black warrant to hang him on 12 March but a videotape of Saulat Mirza was published in which he put serious allegations on MQM and its leader Altaf Hussain regarding target killings in Karachi, Due to which his execution was delayed till 30 March and then court again extended this period till 30 April.
His wife Nighat Mirza plea for more extension on 2 May but the Anti-terror court rejected her plea with an order of execution on 12 May and then he was hanged in the early hours of Tuesday.
Saulat Mirza hanged till death in Mach jail of Balochistan after a fitness certificate from a doctor. His body was then shifted to Edhi morgue in Quetta. Mirza’s 18 family members accompanied his body from Mach jail to Quetta and now his body will be flown to Karachi in the evening today.
