Christian community throughout the country is celebrating Christmas

Christian community throughout the country is celebrating Christmas, an event of peace and happiness on Thursday. Many celebrations and Christmas prayers are being held in all the cities of Pakistan Including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Gujranwala. In Pakistan Gujranwala, Christmas celebrations have been started in 712 churches of the region. In accordance to Christmas, the security has been beefed up to avoid any mishap. Pakistan, Local administration has deployed 3,538 constables and 749 police officers at various churches whereas other 469 national volunteers, 116 working men and 469 working women of NGOs are also helping the police of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal, Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad, and Mandi Bhauddin. Further, a central control room has been made at Central Police Office (CPO). Moreover, in a wake of security measurements, administration has also alerted the relevant departments of security like special branch and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). However, with many churches canceling celebrations, the Christian community in Pakistan is having a low key Christmas celebrations out of the respect for Peshawar massacre victims. The simple celebrations have begun just as the Christmas Eve started with prayer services in the churches and households. The Christmas celebrations will continue throughout the night and the day in pakistan. The festivities will include distributing presents among children and cutting cakes. The churches across the country are praying for the stability and peace in Pakistan. Several churches in pakistan have already been paying homage and leading prayers for the victims of Peshawar massacre that left 142 people including 133 children dead.
