Belly dance or bellydance is a Western-coined name for a sort of Middle Eastern dance. Initially a “solo, improvised dance connecting torso articulation”, belly dance takes many unlike forms dependent on the country and region, both in costume and dance chic, and new styles have changed in the West as its admiration has spread globally.
