Tuesday night concludes the sixth season of The Voice, NBC’s enormously popular reality talent show. After nearly three months of competition, America has selected a winner who will receive $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group. The three finalists were Christina Grimmie (Adam Levine‘s team), Josh Kaufman (Usher‘s team), and Jake Worthington (Blake Shelton‘s team). The three finalists were Christina Grimmie (Adam Levine‘s team), Josh Kaufman (Usher‘s team), and Jake Worthington (Blake Shelton‘s team).

Grimmie closed out the final performances with a cover of Elvis Presley‘s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Kaufman gave a soulful rendition of Adele‘s “Set Fire to the Rain,” and Worthington added his country twang to Richard Marx‘s “Right Here Waiting.” The Emmy-winning show tossed out some votes tallied by downloads because of a glitch involving Kaufman’s song, but Daly said it did not change the overall outcome.

Levine and Shelton, who have been on every edition of The Voice, will be back for Season 7 in the fall with newcomers Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams. They said a temporary goodbye Tuesday to Season 6 panelists Shakira and Usher. “The Voice” lets its viewers vote for their favorite singer through phone, e-mail, text and by downloading songs from the show on iTunes. However, as Kaufman warned his fans on Twitter, his cover of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” from Monday’s show wasn’t showing up where viewers expected.
