Hans Rudolf “Ruedi” Giger ( 5 Feb 1940 – 12 May 2014) was a Swiss artist painter, sculptor and set designer. He was a part of the lighting tricks team that won associate Academy Award for Best accomplishment in Visual Effects for his or her style work on the film Alien.
