This incident also urged technology giants to take part in the relief activities. As the communication system of the country is totally spoiled and the victims are unable to contact their dear ones. This communication gap is a serious problem in rescue operations.

At this time many telecommunication companies like Viber, T mobile, Verizon, Time warner, sprint and many more are providing free of cost texts and calls to the land line and mobile numbers in the territory of Nepal to lessen the communication gap.

Technology giant Microsoft also came forward to donate 1 million dollars for the relief efforts as they stated in their official blog. While Microsoft owned caller application Skype also declares on their blog that their calling facility will be free of cost on any landline or mobile number of Nepal.

All of these technology companies are struggling hard to provide alternate means of communication for the victims of Nepal earthquake. These communication means can also be used in the rescue operations and can save precious lives.
